Abstract:
In the eyes of the consumer, chicken has undeniable advantages. It is loved for its excellent
nutritional value and ease of preparation, especially adapted to today's lifestyle. Chicken is loved
by children and today remains one of the most versatile meat dishes. It is also loaded with
beneficial nutrients. One serving of chicken provides our daily protein requirement without excess
fat. Chicken is also high in B vitamins, which contribute to our energy levels.
Organic food is growing all over the world and is now becoming an increasingly popular
trend in developed countries. Consumer attitudes towards organic food are gradually changing in
a positive direction. While consumers are particularly concerned about food safety and production,
any new poultry producer must adhere to the strictest safety practices in chicken production,
introducing and maintaining high-tech practices throughout the entire production process.
Along with conducting of preliminary research about business idea, it became necessary to
develop structured business plan that would cover key aspects of whole business process and
determine further steps. The business plan presented below contains not only quantitative
information obtained using various research tools, but also qualitative information obtained from
specific experts and people who are most interested in the poultry farming.
Market research is represented by survey with 356 responses. The survey was conducted
in September and October 2020. The objective of the survey was to build understanding of
consumer preferences concerning poultry products. The main material of this research is the data
collected from the families residing in Baku and the surrounding areas. Respondents were
randomly selected among people.
Business idea of small poultry company, producing and selling turkeys, chickens and other
species is derived from above-mentioned trends that happen in our country as all over the world.
In addition, one of the main things that support this business idea is practice of preparation of
incubators from old, unused refrigerators. It is one of the cheapest ways to obtain incubators and
it can create a price advantage for products and services offered by our small company.
